1. Many homes allow pets. Fee varies from house to house (Please inquire). Two pet maximum, however, some houses only allow one pet. Please read property description for specifics. No cats allowed.
  2. A deposit at time of booking is required to hold the reservation (25% to 50% depending on if you book through us directly or through a 3rd party site i.e. VRBO or Expedia). The balance is due at least 30 days before arrival. If you are mailing a check we will hold your reservation upon request for up to one week.
  3. All reservations require either: A refundable security deposit (amount varies depending on the size of the house and will be refunded after checkout);  OR a $40 damage insurance fee which covers up to $1500 in accidental damage. If booked through a 3rd party website, i.e. VRBO, then the security deposit is the default option. Other third party booking sites may vary. 
  4. Check in time is after 4:00pm. If you would like to request an early check-in, we are happy to check the availability to do so on the DAY OF ARRIVAL. No guarantees will be made.
  5. Check out time is 10:00 a.m. Guests will be subject to additional charges for late check-outs that were not arranged in advance.
  6. For items left behind: If guests request an item to be shipped to them after their stay, a $30 service fee will apply plus the cost of shipping. 
  7. All rentals are subject to an 11% North Carolina occupancy tax (7% state and 4% county).
  8. Prices are subject to change after this publication has been posted.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and checks – payable to:  Carolina Mountain Vacation Homes, Inc.  If you are sending a check, we will allow one week to receive your deposit. The balance of your payment must be received at least 30 days before your arrival.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel at least 30 days before your planned arrival, your payment will be refunded. If you cancel with less than 30 days’ notice but at least 15 days' notice, you will be refunded 50% of the deposit. No refunds are made with less than 15 days' notice. The $55 reservation fee is NON-refundable. We can also shift your dates (at no extra charge) within the same month if those dates are available.

Access to homes:
Please make note of the following:
Many of our homes are mountain homes. They are not on public roads. Gravel roads and gravel driveways are common in the mountains and many of our homes require you to use a short unpaved road or driveway to reach a home.
If the home is at a high elevation, the access road is also probably steep in spots.
For many of our homes, FOUR WHEEL DRIVE or front-wheel drive is recommended. Those homes mention this on their individual web pages.
